HMS Victory, HMS Warrior and the Mary Rose

All housed at the naval centre in Portsmouth Harbour. HMS Victory, Vice Admiral Lord Nelson's flagship at Trafalgar. HMS Warrior the world's first iron-hulled, armoured battleship. Restoration and conservation of Henry VIII's warship exhibition. The ship's treasures with film and slide presentation on the sinking and raising of the Mary Rose.

Fishbourne Roman Villa

Fishbourne Roman Villa

Fishbourne was a military supply base established during the Roman invasion in AD43 and the remains of a sumptuous palace which was constructed in AD75 can be seen. There are many old remains including 20 mosaic floors under cover in the north wing and Fishbourne's story is told in the museum and by an audio visual programme.

Charming historic cathedral city. Cathedral/Minster is mainly Norman architecture. Detached bell tower, Sutherland painting, Chagall window, Skelton font, modern tapestries. Site of the Shrine of St Richard. Romanesque stone carvings.

Arundel Castle

High on a hill in West Sussex this magnificent castle commands stunning views over the River Arun and out to sea. Dating back to the 11thC it has been the family home of the Dukes of Norfolk and their ancestors for nearly 1,000 years. Wander in the tranquil grounds and chapel and stroll through the newly restored Victorian kitchen and flower gardens.

Beaulieu National Motor Museum

Visit the world-famous National Motor Museum, Palace House - the Montagu family home, 13thC Beaulieu Abbey and beautiful gardens. Rides and drives for all the family plus the acclaimed James Bond Experience. Nearby is Buckler's Hard, a unique 18thC shipbuilding village on the banks of the Beaulieu River.

The D-Day Museum

The D-Day Museum

The magnificent 83m long `Overlord Embroidery' depicts the allied invasion of Normandy, 6 Jun 1944. Archive film presentation includes original footage and brings the period of World War II alive to the visitor. Other displays and exhibits depict D-Day from dawn to dusk, recreating moments from the events of that day.
