Thoresby Hall Hotel proudly presents the Thoresby Players.
Thoresby Players
This is the name given to our new resident acting team. "Players" is a word traditionally used to describe a troupe of actors who would go to towns selling stories and putting on plays and spectacles. They were often sponsored by rich patrons (usually Dukes and Earls) and so a very fitting name for team residents in an eminent country setting.

| Vignette A Vignette is the name we give to a Historical sketch performed by the Thoresby Players. It usually has two or three actors and tells a story from the history of Thoresby Hall. They will usually take place in the Old House, (Great Hall or Library) or outside in the gardens. |

Murder Mystery
Once or sometimes twice a week we will hold a Murder Mystery event in the Great Hall. You will meet the characters; watch scenes unfold until a murder is committed. Our detective will then, with your help try and work out "who dunnit". Our Murder Mysteries will be performed in period costumes. |

 | Play For Today
Each midweek and some weekends the Thoresby Players will perform a play in the late lounge. For this season the play will be "Love in a Mist". |
Book at Bedtime
What could be nicer than a good night book by the fire before bed? One of the Thoresby Hall Players will be inviting guests to join them in the library for a late night reading aloud of a short story.
Food through the Ages
You will be invited to come and taster the food of yester year. Crockery and recipes from the medieval and other periods will be on show, with one of our players on hand to describe what and how foods were eaten. Beer for breakfast in Elizabethan period (the water was to dangerous!!!) Game and unusual vegetables, spices and herbs we wouldn't think of putting together.
Ghost Walks
If you are feeling brave take a late night walk through our gardens listening to the tales of times gone by...you may even see some of our Thoresby ghost! |  |

Meaning to perform strongly and the name of the touring caberet team which will visit Thoresby Hall Hotel and Nidd Hall Hotel 3 times a week. Some of their show titles include: |
- Hits from the flix- A salute to the singers and songs from our favourite films.
- 50 Years of Motown- Celebrating 50 years of Tamla Motown Music.
- Beautiful Songs- A good song is a good song regardless of age or genre.
