Michael regularly tours the UK as a concert artist and has sold millions of albums over the last 28 years; he’s performed in Australia, China, USA, Singapore and, in 2007, made his BBC Proms debut: An Evening with Michael Ball at the Royal Albert Hall marked the first time a musical theatre star had been given a solo concert at the Proms. He has a successful radio broadcasting career which includes his own show, The Michael Ball Show on Radio 2. He is also a popular TV presenter and, in addition to hosting his own series, The Michael Ball Show on ITV1, he starred with Imelda Staunton in the Victoria Wood BBC TV film, That Day We Sang, and is also a regular guest presenter on The One Show.

In 2018, Michael starred in the London stage production of Chess at the Coliseum, playing Anatoly, a Grade Linnit/ENO production.

In early 2019, Michael released Coming Home To You, his first solo album in four years and his first No. 1 album in 27 years! Not only that, the album – his 21st – featured, for the first time, a clutch of self-penned originals, alongside a choice collection of covers.

In November 2020, Michael & Alfie Boe joined forces to release ‘Together at Christmas’, a magical album where they breathed new life into favourites such as ‘It’s Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas’, ‘Silent Night’ and ‘Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas’. The album even included a brand new self-penned track, ‘My Christmas Will Be Better Than Yours’.

Together at Christmas followed the phenomenal success of the duo’s previous duet albums, their debut ‘Together’, which became the UK’s best-selling album of 2016 and beat the likes of Little Mix and The Rolling Stones to the Christmas No.1 spot, ‘Together Again’ which brought the pair yet another No.1 album in 2017, and ‘Back Together’ which landed them the No.2 spot in the Official Albums Chart. As a duo, they have now sold over 1.3 million albums in the UK, received two Classic Brit Awards, sold out two headline arena tours and presented three ITV Specials. They also reunited for a special new West End staging of Les Misérables in Summer 2019 at the Gielgud Theatre, London.
