The Hairy Bikers

The Hairy Bikers Si King and Dave Myers have become national treasures and have been cooking together for more than twenty years.

Born and bred in Barrow-in-Furness, Dave Myers’ has worked as a furnace-man in a steelworks to finance his studies in Fine Arts at Goldsmiths, where he joined the BBC as a make-up artist specialising in prosthetics.

Hailing from North East, Si has worked for many years as a First Assistant Director and Locations Manager for film and television, including the Harry Potter films. Their television credits include over 20 series’ including Mums Know Best and Asian Adventure. In recent years, viewers watched Si and Dave on The Pubs That Built Britain, which saw them exploring hundreds of years of history and traditions of various British watering holes, and in recent years the duo also celebrated Chinese New Year for a series on BBC2. For Chicken & Egg they biked across Europe, the Middle East and America in search of the best chicken and egg recipes. They then cooked some of their favourite dishes in Comfort Food and last year the Hairy Bikers sought after the authentic flavours of the Mediterranean in Mediterranean Adventure and last year we even saw them bike the iconic Route 66.

The Hairy Bikers have an extensive catalogue of books, including Perfect Pies, Big Book of Baking and Great Curries. Their most recent publications are One Pot Wonders, Mediterranean Adventure and Make it Easy; the latest edition in The Hairy Dieters series.
