Round the Island Race

One of the world's largest yacht races, it typically attracts over 1,700 boats with as many as 16,000 competitors. Starting and finishing in Cowes, the event is a complete circumnavigation of the island, passing famous landmarks such as the Needles and St. Catherine's Point.

The Chale show

With motorcycle and mountain bike stunt displays as well as live bands, vintage and steam vehicles and craft and antique marquees, this is a traditional country show with something for everyone. The horticultural marquee showcases an astounding array of produce, craft, floral and culinary talent.

Lendy Cowes Week

This is one of the UK's most successful sporting events with world-class yachtsmen racing up to 1,000 boats over an eight-day regatta. Much of the spectacle can be viewed from the shore with The Parade at Cowes a great place to soak up the festival atmosphere.

Isle of Wight Jaguar Show

A well-established show at Sandown Airport. The event is open to all makes of cars, not just Jaguars and is expanding with hundreds of vehicles entered for judging. Lots of stalls, entertainment, refreshments and of course, planes coming and going make for a fun day out.

Isle of Wight Garlic Festival

Set just outside Newchurch among rolling farmland, the show offers food and entertainment at the highest level. There are huge garlic and food marquees, cooking demos from the island's top chefs, hundreds of art and craft stalls, plus live music on stage.

International Classic Car Show

The famous classic car extravaganza brings together the best classic vehicles from all over the UK and mainland Europe. An eclectic range of vintage, classic, custom and retro cars and other rare vehicles look back to the golden age of motoring at Newport Quay and Ryde Esplanade.
