West Somerset Railway Trip

Thursdays and Sundays £29 per person
West Somerset Railway has more than 20 miles of heritage railway – the longest in the UK – with 10 restored stations along the line. It cuts a dashing figure through Somerset, from the seafront at Minehead to Bishops Lydeard. The steam-hauled coaches and wagons are the epitome of charm and character, perfect for a journey that takes in historic villages, Dunster’s castle, the Quantock hills, and Exmoor in the distance. In fact, some of the views from the train can only be viewed from the railway. Cricket St. Thomas runs excursions to the railway from spring to autumn. Carriages are specially reserved for the hotel and there's usually a stop-off for a stroll and some sea air at Minehead.
