We reintroduced Nordic walking in 2017, and it’s been a revelation from the off, fast becoming one of your most popular things to do. This type of walking has you feeling really light on your feet. Specially designed poles harness the power of the upper body to propel you forward as you walk, a bit like a marching soldier. The beauty about it is that it gives the whole body a workout while being easy on the joints. It’s suitable for any age and any level of fitness (so no excuses) and can go a long way to lessening tension in the neck and shoulders. Don’t worry, we can provide the poles, and our trained team will introduce you to the technique. All you need do is turn up wearing walking shoes, boots or trainers and the right clothing for the season. Most of our hotels and villages run sessions on every break with a walk in the grounds or in the local area. No matter the pace, slow or fast (faster walkers repeat sections of the walk) we have walks that’ll do their best to put some colour in your cheeks. Whichever route you go down, this is a great way to improve fitness and get toned. What began as a summer training regime for cross-country skiers is now one of the world’s fastest-growing fitness activities. So many people can’t have got it wrong. Why not try a taster session when you’re with us and make it part of your regular exercise programme back home? A £150,000 investment in Gunton’s pool means you’ll now get a bird’s-eye view of the geese and ducks taking their daily dip in the lake outside at the same time as you take yours. From the bubble pool, you’ll get 360 degree views of Gunton’s leafy grounds and wildlife, almost within touching distance. Swimming lengths or joining an aquafit class in the 22.5-metre pool (Warner’s largest) is now even more refreshing too.
