The grounds at Bodelwyddan are a formal walled garden of about six acres and another 10 acres of gardens on site, but the walled garden is the gem of Bodelwyddan with some fantastic views of the Clwydian Hills.

There is something for everyone if you want a little activity we have a pitch and putt and croquet or assisted leisure activities of tai chi, yoga or Frisbee Golf. The south facing wall offers a warm and shaded area to sit and enjoy the views or a tuck into a good novel. There are set pathways through our fantastic Victorian semi – native woodland with its seasonal bulbs carpeting the area and quirky Victorian box wood. The gardens are steeped in history with reference signage telling you all about them.

There is also over 260 acres of parkland containing remnants of the old training trenches of the First World War, where soldiers learnt the art of warfare pre posting.

Did you know the oldest tree in the grounds, a Black Mullberry, is over 370 years old!
