Thoresby Hall has been a home away from home for so many people in the 20 years we’ve looked after it, and we’re delighted to have been a part of some very happy memories. At Warner, we are always looking at new ways to improve your experience and assure you have a perfect break, and we’re delighted to say we’ll be giving Thoresby a £17.5 million spruce to help us achieve that. This work will begin in July 2023, but the hotel will be kept open to assure you can still enjoy your summer breaks. The hotel team and construction workers will be doing everything they can to keep disruption to a minimum.

Here’s how:

The Sherwood Restaurant at Thoresby Hall Hotel.

Dining

The Sherwood restaurant, which usually serves a Market Kitchen menu, will be closed to receive a touch-up, but the Sherwood 2 is just next door and offers the same experience. There’s also Brasserie32 in the Old House for à la carte dining. There will be no changes to the booking process, so if you want to choose your dining times, please book on My Warner Stay as early as possible.

The late lounge at Thoresby Hall Hotel.

Entertainment

Both The Pavilion and The Late Lounge will be undergoing some refurbishments, but we know the show must go on! So, we will be building a temporary alternative venue to assure you don’t miss out on your nightly entertainment fix. Other than the location, there’ll be no change to the schedule.

The Great Hall at Thoresby Hall Hotel.

Old House and Great Hall

If you’re a long-time Thoresby fan, then you might be wondering about The Great Hall, but rest assured that there will be no refurbishments happening in this area. The Manvers Bar and Old House Lounges will also remain open, so you can still visit for drinks, lunch, or a spot of afternoon tea.

Thoresby Hall Hotel's indoor swimming pool.

Reception and Parking

There will be no change to how you arrive at the hotel. You may see some building work when you pull up, but don’t worry! There’ll still be plenty of parking spaces. To check in, enter through the main entrance doors. We’ll have a temporary main reception set up in the lower lobby which will continue to be accessibly by both stairs and lifts.

Bedroom at Thoresby Hall Hotel.

Bedrooms

We’re excited to say we’ll be renovating all the bedrooms in the new wing, with some receiving a whole make-over, and others just getting a touch-up. All of this will be done with the aim of making our rooms even more luxuriously comfortable and inviting, so that everyone can feel like royalty when staying with us. We’ve already taken this into account when booking, so no one will be without a room when they arrive. (I’ve written this down in my meeting notes, but I just wanted to highlight it to double-triple check this includes all necessary info as this is likely the most important part)

How will this impact my break?

These exciting changes will be ready in October, so construction will start over the summer with separate parts ending at different times. Below you can see which parts of the hotel will be affected each month, and how that may impact your break.
