A millennia-old cathedral, stone carvings so intricate they’ve had poems written about them, the most complete historic workhouse standing today, family-run tea rooms, and the home of the bramley apple, celebrated with its own festival every October - you might need more than just one day in Southwell.

Opened in 1852, Nottingham’s oldest park is the immaculately maintained home of over 800 trees, with peaceful walking trails just a stone’s throw from the bustling city centre. It takes just over an hour to circle the mostly-flat park, with just a couple of inclines in places.

Edwinstowe

Only 10 minutes’ walk from Sherwood Forest Visitor Centre, the medieval village is home to the church of St. Mary where Robin Hood married Maid Marian. This vibrant and busy destination offers many craft shops selling handmade chocolates, vintage fabrics, jewellery, plus several restaurants and pubs.
