We offer 2 different types of restaurant both with their own distinctive style of menu. Full English or continental breakfast and 3 course evening meal are included in your break.

New for 2009, Oliver’s Bistro

This year has seen many changes at this superb 16th Century mansion, including our new Oliver’s Bistro, located in the Old House. Oliver’s Bistro, named after Oliver Cromwell, features a lovely Bistro menu in beautiful surrounding. Hotel guests may dine in this restaurant for a small supplement of £10 per person, subject to availability.

Dining in this restaurant is complimentary for one night of
your stay for guests staying in our Historic rooms.

The Popham Restaurant

The Popham restaurant (named after Judge Popham, one of the original owners of the House) is a large, modern and beautifully lit room. Here we serve sumptuous breakfasts and, in the evening, a wide variety of international cuisine to ensure that every night of your stay is different.

Choice in the Popham Restaurant is so varied you can help yourself to a full buffet or carvery, or enjoy table service from our extensive menu. Lunch and refreshments Morning coffee, lunch, afternoon tea and refreshments are all served in the Old House, gardens and at the Pavilion.

Medieval Banquets

Once a week our guests get the opportunity to enjoy an authentic medieval banquet in the Great Hall. Henry VIII would recognise the period food and drink available. It’s hosted by our residential and qualified jester, one of the few authenticated Jesters in the country. This unique experience is available for £40 per person.
