Things to do
440 acres of escapism in the heart of rural England

A blast of country air
It’s all rambles, bike rides and archery in the grounds, or simply the rare opportunity to relax and watch the wildlife go by.
Walking on the wild side
The parkland and ancient copses are threaded with footpaths to suit all fitness abilities. Nordic walking and gardener-led tours of the grounds are available with a group. Independently, the Outdooractive app is free on all smartphones and tablets with recommended routes to download and follow.

In the saddle
Cycle trails roll through the open space and skirt the golf course, narrow lakes and waterfalls for seeing the sights at handlebar height. Up to 50 electric and manual bikes can be hired with two-hour sessions bookable in advance on My Warner Stay. Secure cycle storage is offered for guests’ bikes.

Getting sporty
Archery, rifle shooting and laser clay, at least three daily sessions, take place on a weather-proof range near The T Golf & Activities centre.
The sunken bowls green is the place for casual boules and croquet.

Taking it indoors
The roll call of activities includes daily quizzes in the lounges and bars, chef-hosted cookery demos and gin and cocktail making – and tasting!
If it’s more gym than tonic, there are dance workshops and fitness, yoga and meditation classes, plus aerobics both in and out of the pool.

Tiers of joy
There’s something special about afternoon tea in a truly historic setting. Modest isn’t a thing with a fashionable take on sandwiches, sweet treats and cream-loaded scones with speciality teas. A glass of bubbles adds extra indulgence.
